Hello Mohammed,
direct access to the tables is not possible with the Universe at this point. If you really require the data from the tables then I would suggest you take a classic InfoSet and put the InfoSet on top of the tables.

Hello Amarnath ,
when connecting Web Intelligence to SAP BW there is no need at all to create a Universe. When it comes to the data connectivity from Web Intelligence to SAP BW you can point Web Intelligence directly to a BEx query and use the elements from the BEx query in Web Intelligence.
Also keep in mind that Web Intelligence will always struggle when it comes to using hierarchies and you might want to take a look at SAP BUsinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft office or Analysis, edition for OLAP

Hi,
I have created a Universe on top of SAP BEx Query using OLAP connection in Universe Designer Tool.
As it creates all classes with objects and filters which are exists in SAP BEx Query but when i do the parsing using "Check Integrity", It's throwing an error "Filter Parsed Failed:Invalid Definition (UNV0023)".
Code generated for Filters is as below:
1. <OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="[CUSTRNGE]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Between"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('CUSTOMER RANGE From','A','Submitted By\LovCUSTOMER RANGEBase',mono,primary_key)"/><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('CUSTOMER RANGE To','A','Submitted By\LovCUSTOMER RANGEBase',mono,@primary_2keydefaultvalue)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL>
2. <FILTER KEY="[!V000002]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Between"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Calendar Month Interval From','A','Calendar Year/Month\LovCalendar Month IntervalBase',mono,primary_key)"/><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Calendar Month Interval To','A','Calendar Year/Month\LovCalendar Month IntervalBase',mono,@primary_2keydefaultvalue)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>

Hi Zahid,
Were you able to do so?I have the same requirement now..Can you please discuss the steps performed on achieving the same..As we also have enterprise portalbut don't really understand how that can help us
Thanks & Regards,
Anuradha Padhee
There is no way to change either SAP BW or WinAD user paswords from BO environment.
First we generated unique passwords for each user. Just random numbers and letters. This way one user wouldn't know the other user's' password. After that we told users if they want to change their passwords, they need to login SAP GUI once and change it there while they are logging in.
Hello Jobling Keith
Did you find solution to the problem?
I have similar requirement.

Hi,
we have Netweaver BW 7.00 SP12 and BOBJ XI 3.1 SP03.
We are now planning to upgrade BW to Netweaver 7.31.
I can't find documentation about what version of Business Objects is supported if I upgrade to NW 7.31 (can we stay on BO XI 3.1, or BI4.0/4.1 is required?)
PAM doesn't help much with this, nor NW 7.31 upgrade master guide does.
Does anyone have a link to an official SAP document that has details on this?
Thanks for your help.
Fabio Giovannetti
Not sure about BOE 3.x and BW 730
I can't find anything official either
For sure BI4x is preferred - is there a reason you can't upgrade from BOE3x to BI4.X? See Top X not to do when Implementing BI4 - Webcast Summary for resources
Hi,
We are thinking of providing a Webdynpro application(to have its URL link in BO) from which we can access BW server and reset the password..instead of logging into SAP GUI.Any one ever tried this ??
Thanks & Regards,
Anuradha Padhee
Hi Tammy,
I just need to give evidence to the customer why we should upgrade from BOBJ XI 3.1 to BI 4.X.
That's why I was looking for something official from SAP.
Thanks for the answer.
Fabio
Thanks Tammy.
Fabio
Hi Guys,
Your comments helped me, I have chosen BI and successfully completed a Project, ABAP knowledge did helped.
Assigning you both points. Its been more than one year with BI now
Cheers & Thanks,
Vikrant
That might be a solution, but never tried it.
Hey Everyone,
I want to show Previous 8 Weeks Trend in a Column chart, and the weeks are in Input Control. Total 24 weeks.
If Week 1 is selected --> Trend 1st week data should appear in Column chart
If Week 2 is Selected--> Trend of 1st and 2nd week should appear in Column chart
If Week 3 is Selected--> Trend of 1st,2nd and 3rd weeks data should appear in Column chart
and soo on
But if 9th Week is selected --> Trend of 9th week and previous 7 week should appear
If 10th Week is Selected --> Trend Of 10th Week and previous 7 Week Should Appear
And so on
If 24th week is Selected--> Trend Of 24th Week and Previous 7 Week should appear.
Please Get let me know the solution as soon as possible.
Thanking You,
Mohit Kurseja.
Hi Community
I have a question I need answered or at least validated.
I personally Work with SAP CRM, and have only limited insights into BO, but I have been presented with an issue that I just cant seem to belive is correct. We have a situation where we want a report to automatically save a result in a local file and the consultant that I have doing this tells me that there is no way this file can be saved as a CSV file, can this really be true?
If no, I would obviously like a pointer towards a solution to my problem.
Best regards
Ken
Ken - I am not familiar with which part of CRM this is - perhaps you can ask it in the CRM space at Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM)
Based on question 7 in the Q&A link you provided, I read you answer as: Yes, it is possible for BO to run a report and save the result on a file server in the CSV format.
Is that correctly understood, if yes what would be the logical way to do this?
